Under the Clouds

As a photographer who loves shooting surf, Cloudbreak has been in my top 3 places to shoot since I first heard about it many, many moons ago. Getting married in Fiji, I had no excuse. It's pretty much the main reason I brought my whole underwater setup! And what an amazing experience to have with 6 of your best buds. Although the waves weren't quite double overhead like they had been a couple weeks before, and we had the only rainy day of the whole trip, the photo ops didn't stop for a second. I'll say it till the cows come home, the color of the water in Fiji is surreal. An indescribable blue. To top it off, the clouds really brought out some extra blues (didn't even think it was possible). After 3.5 hours of swimming against the current, rogue washouts, and a few close calls with the reef, I was pretty stoked with what I captured. The underwater world is something so beautiful that photographs sometimes don't even do it justice.

one of my favorites for sure.
